“Could you just stop going around the block and get to the point?”

One of my best friends is a fellow named Gene.  He is one of those colorful characters in my life that has been so much fun to be around. He has more “sayings” than I do… and that is saying quite a bit.

One of my favorite “Geneisms” is something he says to his wife when she is telling a story that… well, maybe is taking longer than he thinks it should.  Gene will say, “Could you just stop going around the block and get to the point!”

How many times have we been in meetings where it seemed like the leader was more interested in “pontificating” than communicating?

I read and article by Ken Thoreson about how to keep your job in sales leadership.  It was short and to the point.  I thought you would like to read it.

Enjoy.
