A young salesman walks into the office of his sales manager and begins to speak.
“Boss, I know times are tough right now. But you know that I am doing a fine job. I am just going to be honest with you. Right now I have 3 different companies after me, and I want to stay here. But it will be hard to justify to my wife if I don’t get a raise.”
After some haggling back and forth, the sales manager agreed to a 7.5% pay raise for the young salesman.
The sales manager asked, “Now that we have finished our negotiations, will you tell me what three companies were after you?”
“Sure” replied the young salesman. “The Gas Company, The Cable Company, and The Mortgage Company.”
