Why is it that society developed such a low opinion of sales people?

Actually, I should probably say salesmen instead of sales people.  I have never seen a sleazy sales person representation that used a woman as the example.  Okay, okay… there may be one example, but we are keeping this blog rated G (maybe PG13).

But over the years, there is little doubt that people of questionable character have given the entire sales industry a bad reputation.  That creates a scenario where each and every sales professional must consider trust as something that must be proactively earned rather than passively given.

One of my favorite bloggers, S. Anthony Iannarino had a great post about was to establish trust.  I highly recommend it.  It is a good read.
